Hi! I’m Anna.  I’m glad you’re here—you belong exactly as you’ve arrived.

A southerner by birth (ATL baby!) who was brought to Bloomington, Indiana through my rowing career, I pivoted from student-athlete to student-coach and fell in love with my husband along the way.  At the end of my time with the IU Women’s Rowing Team, I turned down an opportunity to help coach a national team to focus on myself instead.  When I was challenged to think of my body outside of a tool for sport performance, I found the healing relationship that I could have with my mind and body outside of Division I athletics.

Driven to empower nonathletes in their strength, I focused on home training with a focus on the geriatric population before diving headfirst into entrepreneurship as a personal training business owner at 24.  As a full-time personal trainer for ten years, I got the privilege of working with people of all ages and ability levels and honed my ability to make a movement practice that was accessible and empowering.

In 2017, nine years into my personal yoga practice, I was excited at the opportunity to study and become a registered yoga teacher, certified by Nourishing Heart Yoga with Matece Skow.

Honored to offer to others what I had graciously received from so many teachers before me, I began offering weekly studio classes to complement the strength work and balance the busy lifestyles clients had. My yoga offerings have grown to include corporate yoga, workshops, virtual yoga, and private yoga sessions as the call for more yoga felt clear in both my heart and the hearts around me.

As clients’ desire to uncover more of their strength and ease on the inside increased, so did my interest in holding professional, safe spaces for self-discovery. In early 2021, I completed my certification as a Certified Life Coach (CLC) to focus on nurturing women to prioritize their mind and body wellness to live confidently and vitally.

In December of 2021, I sold my brick-and-mortar personal training and yoga studio three weeks before my second child was born. While I excitedly prioritized my young family, I also uncovered a new demographic I’d love to serve: postpartum women.  I now specialize in meeting women postpartum [0 weeks to 37 years!] to find (or rediscover) their mental and/or physical strength. Offering generous acceptance and compassion while gently welcoming women back into their body and mind feels like the missing piece for women in America, and I’m so honored to walk alongside moms from all ages and walks of life.

In 2022, I utilized one of the silver linings of the pandemic in that people were now interested in virtual coaching and we all realized it could work!  I launched virtual strength training programs and hosted cohorts of women as we trained together. Building community, decreasing fear of lifting heavy weights (you’re already lifting 25lbs of groceries, sis!), and increasing strength and confidence in women hit the sweet spot of calling meets capabilities as I spent more time with my kids.

In 2023, I was honored to be invited to join City Church’s Recovery Group leadership team.  A weekly meeting that focuses on healing hurts, habits, hang-ups, and addiction through a Christ-centered, 12-step lens.  A graduate from the program six years prior, I am grateful to empower others in their healing in a safe and confidential space.

When not with clients, I enjoy practicing yoga as a student in my teacher’s classes, playing at the park with my family, drinking a dirty chai latte at Crumble Coffee, and subbing at my children’s preschool. I love early morning strength training, early bedtimes, painting, gardening, and home projects in the hours in-between. I laugh the hardest with my husband Chris, and my heart is filled by quality time with our family of four.

My life’s work is based off my love of empowerment for others by welcoming them home in their own body and mind as I, myself, have experienced the strength, freedom, and ease that can come through the process of community, honesty, and coaching. I’d be honored to see on you on the mat, in a strength program, in a coaching session, or at recovery group on a Monday night soon.  Please be in touch if you have any questions.
